Does getting your hair permanently straightened make your hair frizzy or thin?

apparently it makes your hair thin and frizzy?

is this true.

i am white with fairly thick, wavy hair, that has a slight frizz, but not much. I would like to get my hair straightened so that the line of my hair is straight and it makes my face slimmer, however i don't want Chinese- straight hair, or hair that looks raked straight, floppy or thin! just a straight smooth line with the same thickness.

thanks!

Very dry, frizzy and prone to breaking off xxx

yes it's true, however there are some other ways to straighten your hair.

* Wash and condition hair.

* Blot dry. Hair should be almost dry when you begin.

* Gather up hair into several sections and secure or clip hair on top of your head. You will be drying the bottom layers first.

* Follow the brush (with your dryer) down the sections of hair as you straighten each section and be sure to keep the dryer moving.

* Take down a new section of hair and procede as directed above.

* Work your way up the layers until all sections are dried and straightened.

* To curl the ends for a polished look, take your brush and pull the ends under. Finish your styling with a blast of cool air if your hairdryer has this capability.

no it doesnt but it does make the hair kind of frizzy

Not necessarily, but I wouldn't recommend getting your hair permanantly straightened because it really doesn't last long. I would recommend getting a Chi hair straightener. They work very well, and as many times as you would use it, would pay for the cost of getting your hair straightened from a salon.

Hmm. Well there's no way to permanantly straighten your hair. But you could get a flat iron for your hair, and use that. I use that when I want to straighten mine, and it smoothes away any frizzies. You also may want to get a serum of some type from the store. You spray a little on your hair and it takes away any frizz. Once you wash your hair, the straightening is gone, so there's no way to "permantly" keep your hair straight. .It will be an ongoing thing you have to do everyday.

Yeah it can make your hair very dry and very frizzy and it becomes more prone to split ends and breaking.
