I have very fine, thin hair. Other than the occasional cut and hair dye I've never done anything with it. Any suggestions?

People with very fine hair should not grow hair too long or it will end up looking stringy. I suggest medium length hair with longer layers and maybe some blunt bangs if you want a change however bangs may take some work with a hair dryer and curling iron to get a side swept look. Ask a stylist for suggestions about coloring fine hair to give the illusion of more volume. I have read that dying the bottom underlying portion of your hair darker and the top brighter makes your hair look thicker.

Third, shop for a stylist, don't just call any shop for an appointment and accept anyone who is assigned to cut you hair. You could go to a shop and discuss the possibilities with stylists, and question what styles work well for fine hair. Or, get referrals for a stylist from friends.
