A friend always asks salons and stores if there is a shampoo that controls oily hair and also volumizes thin hair. She's been told that a product like that does not exist. It's either one or the other. She has tried Tea Tree Oil products; it helps control the oil but it does not volumize her hair. Any suggestions?

Nioxin, it is specifically designed for thin, fine hair and it has a clarifying agent which is great for oily hair.
Its a bit pricey $20-$50 depending on size, but its worth it. Try Nioxin system 1, unless she has chemically treated hair, ie perm, color, then use system 3. You can get it at professional salons.

head and shoulder citrus breeze is very refreshing and effective
it removes the oil from the scalp but adds shine to ur hair

Aveda-Rosemary Mint Shampoo is very nice for all types but esp oily :-) (also good for clarifiying)
