My friend was told to buy a shampoo with Selenium in it, to thicken and possibly regrow his hair, he asked if Head and shoulders would work since it lists selenium as the active ingredient. Will it ??

Selenium is an anti-oxidant. It is for prevent your hair from damaged by free radical ( air pollutant, environment etc.) It wont help thicken your hair. Protein will help. Try look for hair shampoo with protein conditioner.
