thinning shears work wonders yes, but if your hair is thicker the next day then they obviously din't do something right.
the next time you get your hair cut, tell the stylist about how thick your hair is and that you would like it to be however thin you would like it.
a razor works well for thinning too..
ask the stylist, and make sure to specify how thin you want it, a stylists job is to make sure YOU are happy.
